1190 SPORTS ANNOUNCES DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH DIRECTV FOR PERU’S LIGA1

Buenos Aires, Lima December 20th, 2022. 1190 Sports, a global company dedicated to the management and commercialization of sports rights, announced today the signing of a distribution agreement with DIRECTV for Liga1 of Peru that kicks off the expansion of the championship’s reach, which in 2023 will be enjoyed by more fans through the incorporation of new operators in the country.

In this way, the main football competition in Peru will be on DIRECTV, expanding its wide sports offer through two new channels that will be available to its Pay TV and streaming platform customers in Latin America.

These two new content proposals dedicated exclusively to Liga1 include a full monthly subscription channel where Liga1 matches will be broadcast live and a free basic channel that will offer original and exclusive original production shows 24 hours a day.

Liga1 coverage contemplates the Apertura Tournament, which begins in January 2023, and the Clausura Tournament, in June 2023, both with 19 rounds of 9 games each. In addition to the local matches of all the clubs participating in the two tournaments, (with the exception of the local matches of “Club Social y Deportivo Carlos A. Manucci”, “Sport Boys”, “Club Universitario de Deportes” and “Municipal Sports Center Club”). The matches that these four clubs play as visitors will be broadcast on DIRECTV. Additionally, at the end of these two tournaments, Playoffs will take place between 4 clubs: the champions of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments and the two that have been the best in the annual accumulated table.

1190 Sports, the new holder of the broadcast rights on open TV, Pay TV, PPV (Pay Per View) and streaming of Liga1 (2023-2026), through the contract signed with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), will seek further increase the reach and interest of fans, maximize revenue, visibility and value of the Peruvian 1st Division, capitalizing on the company’s know-how in rights management, content distribution and the creation of consistent long-term links between rights holders, brands and fans, while contributing to greater national and international exposure for clubs and their players.
